The Ego “I”
“From the Spiritual point of view, we are unlimited Life, giving form to ItSelf. From the merely psycho/physical point of view, each of us is defined and identified by our “own” limited psycho/physical appearance and experiences; we are what we seem to be relative to our experience of our self.”
The ego “I” is the sensation that there is a “someone”, a “somebody” in the form of “yourself” that must be defended. “I” (the everyday “I” we refer to ourselves as) is always in self-defence readiness.
This ego-I is the worldly constructed self; the conditionally contrived self. It is the sensation of a separate “I” (based merely on the body/mind) constructed during our child and adolescent human psycho/physical developmental years.
From the Spiritual point of view, we are unlimited Life, giving form to ItSelf. From the merely psycho/physical point of view, each of us is defined and identified by our “own” limited psycho/physical appearance and experiences; we are what we seem to be relative to our experience of our self.
Our bodily individual psycho/physical experiences and reactions both cause and reinforce what is essentially an emotional withdrawal into the limited body/mind self.
We now “live” within the sensation of a separate (based on our own particular experiential emotional withdrawal from Life) limited psycho/physical individual. An identity that almost always feels like it is under attack and censure from the world and itself.
Yet each of us arises in, and belongs in, and has our being in the all-evolving unlimited Universal Life Mystery. Our form is merely the instrument of Life for the expression or transmission of Life through form.
And the transmission of unlimited Life through form is Love. Love being the expression of relationship with each other on the basis of our unlimited Self.
